Hotel Villa Baula surrounded by Las
Baulas National Marine Park in Playa Grande and National
Wildlife Refuge of Tamarindo in Guanacaste. Host to
the giant leatherback turtle. These enormous sea creatures,
weighing more than 600 pounds, nest each year in the
beach, in front of the hotel, the leatherback season
runs from October through march;however, Playa Grande
offers more than turtles. Canoe through the Tamarindo
estuary with more than 1,200 acres of salt water jungle
comprised of red, with, black, ant the rare mangrove,
and area which shelters hundreds of species of birds
and animals. There are wonderful tidal pools for snorkeling,
bathing and exploitation on horseback rides! Costa
Rica's most consistent surf break, is at Playa
Grande, deep sea fishing can also be arranged.

Hotel Villa Baula is a very private hotel
with only 20 rooms in 2 modules, 5 bungalows with ocean front
view, ceiling fan, private bath and hot water. The best food
in Playa Grande is in the Jaguarundi Restaurant, and the best
cocktails, in the Malinche Bar, a large swimming pool and
many activities, like the leatherback turtle tour, birdwatching,
howling monkeys and all types of wildlife.
